Battery, also known as battery, has two types: traction type and starting type. Internal combustion forklift adopts starting type battery, while electric forklift adopts traction type battery. Batteries can be divided into acid and alkaline. Generally, lead-acid batteries are used for internal combustion vehicles. The nominal voltage of single cell batteries is 2V and connected in series into 12V. The specific gravity of battery electrolyte is 1.28 at the standard temperature of 15 ℃. When the single cell voltage of battery drops below 1.5 V or the specific gravity of electrolyte drops to 1.17, it indicates that the battery is discharged and must be charged in time. The electrolyte level of the battery must be 10 ~ 15mm higher than the electrode plate. If the level is too low, distilled water must be added in time, and other liquids shall not be added. The battery in use shall generally be charged outside the vehicle once a quarter. The charging current is the battery capacity divided by 10, and the charging time is about 10 hours. Batteries that are not used for a long time shall be fully charged, placed in a cool and dry place, and charged every other month or so.
The following precautions shall be taken for the use of battery:
1. The battery will produce flammable gas, which may cause explosion. It is strictly prohibited to smoke near the battery, and any flame or spark is strictly prohibited. When the battery is stored or charged, it must be well ventilated, but not at the exhaust port to avoid corrosion caused by acid mist.
2. The battery liquid contains corrosive liquid, which may cause serious burns. Avoid contact with skin, eyes or clothes. If an accident occurs, please wash it with plenty of water immediately and get medical attention immediately.
3. When checking or maintaining the battery, please use rubber gloves to avoid electric shock.
4. The battery surface or connection must be kept clean. Dust and impurities must be removed with wet cloth, otherwise electric leakage will occur and even cause fire.
5. When cleaning the battery, be sure to use a wet cloth instead of a dry cloth.
6. Do not connect the positive pole and negative pole of the battery with tools.
7. When charging, the electrolyte temperature shall not exceed 50 ° C to avoid injury caused by electrolyte overflow. Pay special attention in summer and daytime.
8. Before unplugging the battery, in order to avoid sparks, be sure to turn off the key switch of the forklift and the switch of the charger.
9. The electrolytic liquid level shall not be lower than the minimum limit, otherwise the battery is easy to heat and burn.
