Detailed description of battery maintenance

1、 Make up water:

After the battery is used for a period of time, the electrolyte will be reduced due to electrolytic water during charging and evaporation during heating. At this time, it is necessary to add water to the battery to ensure the normal liquid level of electrolyte. Distilled water or deionized water must be used to replenish the battery. Do not replenish water during charging. Generally, acid shall not be added to the battery. If necessary, it shall be carried out under the guidance of professionals.

2、 Charging:

Charging is a very important link in the daily maintenance of battery. Untimely and inadequate charging will seriously shorten the service life of the battery. Before charging, check whether there are monomers with very low liquid level. If so, replenish water to these monomers first. At the same time, measure the temperature of the electrolyte. If the temperature of the electrolyte is too high, such as more than 55 degrees, let the battery cool down and rest before charging.

The battery must be fully charged, otherwise the service time of the battery will be significantly shortened and the charging will become more frequent. For a long time, the battery plate will be substantially damaged (vulcanization and high temperature), which greatly shortens the service life of the battery.

3、 Cleaning:

1. Surface cleaning:

Dirt on the battery surface will cause self discharge on the battery surface, which will shorten the working time of the battery and may cause explosion during charging. When wiping the surface of the battery, use a wet cloth and avoid using a dry cloth, dry paper and chicken feather duster, otherwise static electricity will be generated, which can cause serious events such as battery explosion.

2. Box cleaning:

After the battery is used for a period of time, the bottom of the battery box will accumulate fluid due to various reasons (such as make-up water overflow). The accumulated fluid contains sulfuric acid. If it is not cleaned frequently, it will lead to corrosion at the bottom of the box, resulting in unnecessary losses. Therefore, the box needs to be cleaned regularly.

If it is not cleaned for a long time, the bottom of the box will expand locally due to corrosion and jack up some monomers. Over time, the connecting strip connecting monomers will be broken, resulting in loss and danger.

3. Plug cleaning:

For a long-term battery, the plug will adhere to a lot of dirt on the surface for various reasons, which may lead to leakage between the poles, resulting in the burning of the plug, and even more serious consequences. In addition, the dirt on the plug grounding (terminal) must be removed in time, otherwise it will have serious consequences due to poor contact.

4. Corrosion removal:

Aging or poorly maintained batteries will produce corrosion at the cable connector, both ends of the connecting strip and the inner side of the box. Poor contact caused by corrosion at the joint, resulting in electric spark and accident; The corrosion inside the box will expand inward, causing the monomer to be squeezed and broken, resulting in loss.

4、 Voltage and specific gravity:

1. Monomer voltage:

The rated voltage is 2V / C. The voltage of fully charged monomer (without disconnecting the charger) is 2.40-2.70v/c (about 2.60-2.70v for new monomer). After disconnecting the charger and standing for half an hour, the voltage is about 2.17v/c. 80% discharge voltage is 1.87v/c and termination voltage is 1.7v/c

2. Specific gravity of monomer electrolyte:

Under normal conditions, the specific gravity of electrolyte of fully charged battery is

Faam (DIN): 1.280kg/l ± 0.005kg/l (30 degrees)

Faam (BS): 1.280kg/l ± 0.005kg/l (20 degrees)

The specific gravity is 1.17kg/l at 80% discharge and 1.14kg/l at full discharge. The specific gravity decreases by 0.0007kg/l every one degree of temperature rise

FAAM(BS): S20=Sg+(T-20)*0.0007;

FAAM(DIN):S30=Sg+(T-30)*0.0007;
